Nissan? What does Nissan have that will hang with a HEMI? Stock on stock A Cummins doesnt stand a chance against a HEMI. Pulling a trailer and racing is another story,but just flat out acceleration,if both are stock,the oil burner is toast.

Let's do a little math to sooth the nerves here.

Hemi - 345 Hp / 375 TQ
1500RC SWB - Approx5000 lbs
TQ to weight ratio - 13.1:1

CTD - 325 Hp / 610 TQ
2500 QC SWB - Approx 7000 lbs
TQ to weight ratio - 11.4:1

Torque equals acceleration bud and the lower the ratio, the better the acceleration. Pull up next to somebody that knows how tolaunch and you're a ghost.

Now, let's look at equally equipped trucks and the Hemi's ratio goes up to 18.6:1. Get the picture.

Hemi's are impressive in 2 areas.............in Superbowl commercials and around High School girls.

Take that Hemi talk back over to the 3rd Gen forum. Otherwise, like I told one of your buddies over there (I think it was Vipers4Sale, or something like that) I'll pay for a tank of gas and your track fee, if you mount a video camera on your truck and get a vid of your run on the track. I'll do the same (I have a 1/4 mile track 5 miles from my house) and we'll seee who'stime slipcomes out on top.

Even better.......we'll do a second run, doing what TRUCKS are made to do, and strap 9K behind them and make a run. We can head right over to Home Depot, rent a bucket loader / backhoe combo and git 'r done. Ohhhhhh, hang on........is your truck rated to pull 9K? I can back off a little, if we need to. [:-]

I don't know why the Hemi guys show up on this side of the board anyway, I go to the 3rd gen forum about once a week to browse until I find a pissing match thread to laugh at

Its apples and oranges,I never said I could out pull a CTD ,but if you want to pull,now your in my arena,lemmie hook8000 TONS to your ctd and I will use my work diesel. Its all a matter of perspective.If ya'll are getting spanked by a brand X suv,I sure wont have a problem blowing a CTD away! I am well aware of the potential that lies in waiting in the diesels,If you read my original post I am refering to stock vehicles. Although,I have been watching and competing in NHRA drag racing for 20 years,havent seen a diesel prostock yet. Again,apples and oranges. I have some nice mods done to my truck,but its no hot rod,neither is yours. I will be more than happy to make a trip to the drag strip with ya,Ill bring my Demon. Surely you can out run that old antique,it still has a carburator on it!!
