I'm sure the bypass is helping, without having a reference it's hard to say what is going on... if anything. Jason (Dieselnut), is going to do an amsoil test next time out (on him) while I do my sample (done thru AAA)... then we'll have 2 labs to compare against.

Oh .... I thought you DID have an anlysis prior to installing the by- pass. That way you could have a comparison.

nope, no pre-bypass analysis done. I put in fresh oil before the bypass install.

Really need a brand new oil analysis to know what levels are elevated.

Silver is potentially a worry...might be a bearing...worst worry would be a turbo bearing.

High EGR will mean higher soot loads on oils in all diesels.

I was also thinking it could be a turbo bearing... that would be a good thing IMO... turbo's are cheeper than a motor. One thing I didnt mention is the sample came after the bypass filter, it was taken on the return line from the filter off the oil fill cap.
