Canadian diesel from oil sands & injector problems?

I havent heard about this yet. . .but from reading the article from what I can gather the oilsands fuel doesnt possess the lubricative properties needed to keep the injector pump cool and comfortable.
I'll defiantely keep my eyes open about this.

I sounds like industry sandbagging, how would fuel affect only inline 6 diesel engines in light heavyduty hpcr truck. If youwant to hurt Dodge sales you get industry press to start an unsubstantiated claim like that.
As far as I know the fact is all three manufactures are hpcr engines and the fact that some are v8's can not affect the performance of the fuel long or short chain. We all use the same injectors and pump. Just sounds like BS.

I also did find that a bit odd. . .however the injectors of our engines are MUCH different than what you have in the duramax, which is also HPCR, the PS is not a HPCR engine.
anyway, the way the fuel is used inside the injectors is whats in question here, the duramax does not use much fuel at all for lubrication of the injectors, where as we do. nearly 20% of the output of the CP3 to the injectors is used just for lubrication, that is then returned to the tank. this is the main reason why your CP3 uses a lift pump and the CP3 of the duramax does not.
second, I think most of the problems would be pointed twards the VP44 of the early 24 valves, and the fact the lack of lubrication causes wear of the pump and lowers the pressure that is necessary to fire the injectors decreasing performance.
