Looks like it's time for new hubs up front. 122,000 HARD miles on these....lol.

Timken seems to be the better brand.

Any suggestions? I looked at Advance and Autozone. Didn't know if there were any other shops.

95', CTD, 2500, 4 x 4, 8800GVW.

As always, thanks guys.

the rotors are seperate from the hubs. buy them, knock out the studs and press in the new ones with the rotor.

I just located the rotor on autozones site. they are chinese made though......

its around $400 or more per rotor/ hub assembly at dodge..unless you have contacts.

make sure to get NEW top grade bearings!!!

I just did mine on the 93 ctd.

It's the hubs I need, no rotors. I was looking for the highest quality. All I have seen is Timken, and BCA National.

Didn't know if anyone knew of other brands. I'm not a Google wizard like Mayfair......lol. And he's never around when you need him........hmmmmmmmmm.

then call Dodge....thats the only place to get high end parts........why do you need hubs anyway??

the diesel hubs are special...extra wide mouth on the outside for the extra heavy axle spindle. Dodge carried rotor/ hub assy's for my 93, they should have hubs for your 95.

I'm trying to avoid Chrysler products as replacement. There's much better than OEM out there. This last set was Timken, and they have 103,000 miles on them. One sideis grinding horribly, andhad too much slop for me to drive on. Theother side, is rock solid, BUT, is gettin tossed anyway. There's certain parts that you do in pairs, (in my mind anyway).

I am tickled I got this much time out of them, seeing how I am a demanding driver...LOL.

It will be a fun few hours. Spring time is when I regrease and inspect the calipers, rotors, etc. Might even do some u joints if needed. It's fun. Better than being at a family function.....lol.

Good luck with ALL our rides.

ok if it was grinding, its either bearings or rotor/ caliper probs.

the hubs should not wear out unless you drive 85mph over mine pit roads all day.

do ya have pics there Mr Diesel Demon?

No pics yet. I may take them when I changed the out. My rotors and pads are perfect. No runout, and more than half the pad left. It's the hub assembly. Trust me, I wail on my truck. I had a good run with these hubs..lol.

The wheel has major play in it. The hub has started to split.

I just don't understand why they don't make a greasable hub with all our modern technology..lol.

That's how it used to be until one of the genius engineers came up thesefriggin unitized bearingsto speed up the assembly process.

You could just drop the big coin and get the Dynatrac conversion and get the greasable / rebuildable hubs, manual hub locks, 35 spline stub shafts..........KABLAM..........no more hub / bearing issues. Only $1700. [:-]

I'd have to return my Eaton E-locker that I just bought. It's a 35 spline at the hub only? I'd want to eliminate my intermediate shaft as well, right? If I get manual hubs, I can remove the CAD as well. All I would retain is the switch for the 4wd light.

That is a sweet setup though. I have read about guys switching knuckles to GM style to get away from Chrysler hubs. I may have to investigate this.

PEACE.
