Default Finally found and installed - rear brake guards

I finally found them! Up here is Saskatchewan with all the gravel roads, the rear caliper slides get destroyed by the rocks. Here is the site of a company that makes them.

http://www.excelaguard.com/index.html

The are stainless steel and are a quality fit. They attach to the caliper mounting bolts. They cost around $100.00 canadian and for me it's money well spent. The 4 boots and 4 slides that I had to replace cost $70.00.

Hope someone finds this useful.[/align]

Wow that's pretty cool. I don't know how much work they actually do sinceI just replaced my rear shoes after about 85K or so, but it's still pretty cool.

I just did. Perhaps if you stepped away from the bong and let your eyes re-focus again you'd see my response.

The Metallica thing is kinds funny. I personally like Metallica's music. I've played drums for 35 years. I got backstage all day at3 Metallica shows. A show with Metallica/Danzig/Suicidal Tendencies in Syracuse, and then one with GnR/Faith No More at Rich Stadium near Buffalo, and finally Metallica by themselves at the HSBC arena.

Anyway, I met the band, saw everything, and was invited back for the second nites show. This time I was allowed to stand down below the decking and watch what goes on. I called in sick to work and kept the hotel another night with 2 of my friends.

Before the start of the second show, they do their sound check. They let my 2 buddies into their seats and they watched from there.

Now here's the cool part, they let me sit at Lar's set and test each drum, cymbal, kick drum, etc. No bashing allowed and I wasn't permitted to try a beat on them. I was thrilled at what I got to do. I got to keep the sticks as well.

That's my story.....no big deal.

Rear disk brakes are a mixed blessing. Better stopping power but much more maintenance. With these brake guards however, the maintenance will be no different than the front brakes, which is minimal. Again, I think if you do any off-road driving at all you would be hard pressed to spend $100.00 on a better item. And they even look cool from the back as an added bonus[sm=icon_rock.gif]
