the rears are probably overkill. when I priced them out for my 2000, the difference was $30~40 bux for everything. with that said, why not? turned out to be an awesome swap!

Never heard of a Crosley?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crosley

Actually, if more stopping power is what you want Drum brakes have much more power than discs, and the really old constricting band brakes are even better than drums. All has to do with more friction area per brake size, discs are really in-efficient when it comes to friction area. The BIG upside to discs is that they can stop you more than once before they get to hot and fade away. Drums and bands are REALLY bad at getting rid of heat. Just letting you know, pure stopping power is not the reason discs are better (this goes for front and rear). Another benefit to discs is that they don't mind getting run through the mud and stuff as much, not too many places for grim to collect, drums have a tendency to hold mud and stuff inside them if they get dunked.

If disks sropped better, you would see them on semi's. You can't get enough friction area on them to stop that big of a load.

I have 76,000 on mine and more than 1/2 of the pads are left on the rear. My 3/4 ton with 4-wheel discs stops better than my 98 1/2 ton I used to own.

I got mine at California Creations (located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - go figure). They don't have a web site. The phone number is (306) 955-4446. I would guess that the web site that I posted would be able to give you the name of some US distributors but maybe they are not available down there as there isn't as much need with all the good highways. Anyways, hope this helps.
