2 Cycle oil?
Tried Drews Brew and then ran without it for a while. Onlr noticed a difference in sound of the valves trying to come out. Gonna try the 2 cycle Tuesday when I fill up. How much tho should I use? 1 quart or 1 oz per gallon? Read alot about it here and need some feedback. Thanks
I used the same amount that Drew has listed in his mix. I noticed a difference in using both MMO and 2 cycle, although its hard to say which was better. I tend to stick with MMO since I've had good luck with it in other vehicles with weak valves.
After quite a bit of research on the subject, I have settled on 16 OZ PS Gray Bottle and 16 Oz of 2 cycle oil for each fillup of about 25 gallons. There seems to be a slight decrease in the noise factor, but no change in the fuel milage. I was running Drew's "brew" and also noticed a slight decrease in the engine noise, but no improvement in fuel milage.
Drewcan probably tell us more about this than me. But I believe the oil is simply there for added lubrication and to help reduce the effects of LSD and ULSD fuel. What should help your mileage is the PS which is a good additive even without the oil being added to the mix.

also the PS increases the cetane rateing of the fuel, this with the added lubrication helps quiet things down. I havent run the mix for two tanks, just as a test, my mileage has gone down a little, but not much, and things do rattle and shake a bit more
I'm on my second "Brew free" tank now. The engine definately runs louder now. Unfortuantely I won't know the true effects of my switch because I've also just installed a FASS, and I'm starting to think that winter blend fuel has probably been phased out which will give you a bump in mileage anyway.
We'll see ...
BTW: I'm assuming that when you disconnect your batteries that you also loose your mileage thing. Like ... you know how you zero it out when you fill up? Well, I zeroed it out, drove it for a few days, installed the FASS, and when I checked it a day or so later it only read 65 miles. I'm assumig that the mileage recorded prior to the FASS install ( when I had to disconnect the batteries ) was lost. Right?

I had my battery cable unplugged last weekend for about 20 minutes, and I lost my mileage on the trip odometer.

I use 16 oz of 2 stroke and it works great for me...
while up in Washington I swapped out the fuel filter... fuel came out with a bluish tint, fuel filter was black. I ended up having some surging problems on the way up while trying to hit 70 in Washington on I5 (18.2 mpg over 350 miles on the return trip), 67 mph was about it for no surging to occur. swapped the filter before heading home and surging was gone.
