HIGH EGT

RE: HIGH EGT
to get the egt's down you'll need to free up the exhaust. Get rid of the stock cat and muffle and put a straight through one in, like an aero 4040. Mayfair can tell you about the aero[&:]. As far as the transmission, you'll probably want to upgrade the torque converter and valve body. This should help with the trans problem.

RE: HIGH EGT
I also have an 05 with striat pipe from the turbo back and a true flow intake tube and air filter and the edge with attitude.
When I first got the edge everything was fine. Then I noticed the alarm statered going off for egt's after abouttwo months of use. I took it back towhere I had the edge installed and they replaced the whole unit. Then I took the whole unit out and put an egt gauge to see if it was the truck it's self. Then I took it to the dealer and they tell me that there are no codes every thing is fine. I take the service manager for a ride and before I hit 3dr gear I am 1400 deg. he told me there is nothing from dodge cummins about how hot is too hot so just drive it because your covered for 100,000 miles. ( the stupid A$$)
I still have high egt's even without a load I can get 1450 deg easy with a loadand 1200 deg just normal driving gettingon the on rampof the freeway. I am sure it is my truck but I can't find anyone who can tell me why.
So I guess what I am saying is before you go taking out your edge look at your truck and if you find out let me know.

RE: HIGH EGT
1400 degrees is not an acceptable operating temperature.....lol. You should be injecting methanol if you run that hot all the time.
I can take my 95' and peg a 1600 degree gauge. That's a matter of fuel. If you have a 4 inch exhaust, and a performance intake, my guess is you might need more air and/or it's time for a bigger turbo. Intercooler can become restricted as well. Do you monitor boost?
Here's what an undersized turbo does under heavy load.
One more tip for lower EGT's,............let up on the throttle a little......LOL.
Good luck with your ride.
