Default APB. . .need some info

alright guys. . .on the way to work this morning I nearly lost 1st gear on my little road burner yoda, and 2nd isnt doing any better. on the way home things were a bit better, but not much.

question is, anyone know of a good place to get a transmission rebuild kit for a W59 toyota tacoma manual??? I'm gunna need all syncros, bearings, gaskets, seals, pretty much everything.

I think I know what did her in, and it was my own uneducated self that did it. and to pass a little knowledge to the rest. . NEVER use Coastal oils. When I changed the clutch out about3 years ago I went ahead and changed the tranny fluid as well. . .well, the trans started shifting funny a few months later. . .I didnt think much of it till a month ago, I dumped the stuff and WOAH was it nasty. I put in some good amsoil and the shifting got alot better, however I think it's done for. I now have to ride the clutch to get it into 1st, and also ride it a bit to go from 3-2[:@]

I hear ya, The dealer got my for $230 for swaybar links on the front of my ctd[:@]. Have you tried going through a fourwheel drive shop, we gotta place called "randy's offroad" that guy will bend over backwards for ya. And if your return customer, sometimes he'll throw in a reach around. I go to him for all my preformance diesel and offroad stuff (things I can't get from work)

oh man that sucks... seems some things never change... my '83 lost the 1st gear, and the thrust washers dropped out off the crank/block. not sure which one came 1st but my guess is the thrust washer was the problem and took out 1st gear since the crank was moving about 1/8~1/4 of an inch... I've been looking at toy's for my son who is just about ready to get a set of wheels and noticed that alot of the early 90's v6's are blowing head gaskets. the 3.0 I6 had the same problem. Sorry Drew... cant help on sources for the parts

toyota... oh what a feeling... needless to say, we're holding out for a dak or jeep GC 5.2 for Jr...

that would be the last thing I would want to do. . .I know this trans can be repaired easily.

I was on that drive train website yesterday. . .I'm just looking around to see if anyone knows more.

Just be aware that many Amercian made parts don't hold up as well as orginal Toyota parts will. I found this out the hard way on a car my wife use to have.
