RE: I thinkn I'm losing an injector
Ok, final update until the thing comes apart cause they won't friggin touch it![:@]The tech called Dodge star line and they would not authorize any work on the truck at all. They said numbers were not out of spec, and that I don't drive it hard enough and have too much idle time. Suggested I should use Mopar diesel fuel additive regularly to keep these issues to a minimum. This all went down last Friday and I have been to pissed to update till now. The only thing I can do is call the useless, script reading, friggin idiots at the customer care number. I haven't done that yet either for the same reason. I don't buy the fact that the smoke I'm seeing is normal, it wasn't there before this problem started, plus my drop in mileage, and ticking when cold. Well since I left the dealer I have been beating the crap outta this thing including a camper trip bouncing off the rev limiter. I even tried the old full dose of injector cleaner in 1/4 tank of fuel and beat it some more all day today, NO CHANGE! I guess I'll just put a pressure box on it and see if I can blow the slacker injector out the head, and then bring it in for repair. Thanks for the place to vent.

Drive it through the front door of the stealership Nick, and I will bail you out!! Sorry about the problem with the truck. Maybe you could bring it up to the store and we could switch for a few daysOf course I will have to clean mine up first[:@]Let me tow a few loads of wally's with it and that injector is sure to blow or get cleaned out. Your truck runs pretty smooth to have problems, sounds pretty sweet toGive it time , it will work out.

I have seriously considered asking you if I could make a run with you once or twice to really blow it out.
The dealer is more than willing to replace injectors, it's DC that won't allow it. I ran into the same problem with my previous Ferd. The tech wanted to replace the tranny and Ferd wouldn't allow it. It's how they control warranty costs. It just sucks that they can blow you off like that, with some BS answer.

What is "Cummins injector cleaner" and where can I get some? What does this run?

I was a step ahead of you guys, I put in a fresh tank of fuel, and some Cummins injector cleaner, and we went camping this weekend. I rode it hard to the lake Friday, and coming home today I ran it through the gears to red line in every gear except 6th up a long grade. Then ran 75 MPH the rest of the way home (20+ miles). It seems like the power is bettter, but when I got home it still will give a little puff of balck smoke if I rev it from idle. The good thing is it wasn't laying a cloud when I was on it coming home. Next week some time I'm gonna go get serviced I'm gonna have them hook me up and do and contribution test at least.
