I don't understand what the purpose of these shrouds that you see more and more of covering the whole engine. Is it to try and prevent you from working on your car?

I think it's mostly just for looks: to present a clean, nice package. I'm sure it only takes a few seconds to remove.

yea it looks like four bolts to take it off my dads chevy has that it comes right off.

sure am glad I have the 5.9... I like how clean it is under the hood. too much going on in the 6.7 engine compartment

It is most likely so that softies that dont really need the truck and dont really know anything about cars look at it and think it looks good or cool, basicaly so they get sales from the r-tards
