Default Damn, my truck has a Hemorroid!!!

Just received by UPS my new MBRP muffler and opened the box. So I crawl underneath the truck to check things out and what do I see after the stock muffler? WTF is THAT ?? Damn, my CTD farted a big one and blew out a hemorroid!!!
No , just kidding here , but what the hell is that ? Some sort of resonnator or something? Maybe a muffler want-a-be? Don't know, so what's yall's ideas?

Thanks................Oh and by the way, Commingalong, finally got around to checking out the "Show of Force" clip. Mighty fine, and a good tune to go with it.

Later,
Walt

Looking left to right, the muffler is on the left in the fore ground. The "roid" is following behind and to the right of the muffler.
So, Mayfair, What do ya think?

It LOOKS like the same resonator thing that I cut out of mine, but mine was up near the engine, whereas yours looks like it's going over the axle.

I'd say to "loose it" however wait till one of the other guy's ( someone who KNOWS what their talking about ..lol ) shows up.

OK, no major surgery here then, but because of it's location near some bends, I may have trouble tieing it into a straight pipe replacement. I'll likely have to go to a muff shop to have a new muffler to the back tail pipe section made up. First I'll call Diesel Manor where the MBRP was ordered from to see what they say.
Thanks for the opinion guys.
This month has some cool upgrades in the works for my ride, I'll post them soon when I get off my tail and formally introduce myself in the Diesel Roll Call

Later guys,

OK, I spoke to tech support at diesel manor awhile ago. Dude said that word from MBRP is that it will work. Yeah, right...........(it will be fine as long as you don't plan on using the tail pipe after the muffler).
They said it will fit, just have to cut back the pipe at the end. What a foolish thing to say, the hanger at the back would not even match up. Needless to say I'm calling tommorrow to return the muffler unless they can send another pipe to run at factory specs from the muffler back to the end of the tail pipe. What a drag!

Are you trying to keep the resonator, or loose it?

Can't you get a tailpipe from a 3rd gen the doesn't have the resonator on it and use that?
