Default Question for Triton...

Hey boss, curious about your new innercooler, is it helping quite abit? I just added the hot juice and now my EGT's get much hotter much quicker, looking for a way to help her out on the temps.

Yes, it does help a little. My EGT's don't climb near as fast as they used to. By the time I hit 70mph at WOT though... I'm still pushing 1500F. Before I'd barely get to 60mph and see those temps. The trick really is a cooler combined with bigger turbo though. I just bought one this morning. The HTTss 64/14. Known as the golden nugget[sm=drooldude.gif] That combined with the air intake and cooler should get the EGT's in check.

As you know... you can just do one thing and have it work. It's the combination of all the components together

Thanks Triton...not I need to figure out which will help the most to start with, the turbo or the inner cooler. Let me know what the new turbo does, I realise Im going to do a combination but given my budget I want to add what helps the most to start with. Thanks

Believe it or not Drew.... it wasn't bad at all. Only a little more than the cooler. Jeff is pretty cool.... I think he gave me the hook up since he's about to do my tranny.

I've seen golden nuggest men tionedaround the forums. It's just because the SS will turn gold after some heat gets to it. The review about it have been excellent.

Yep Sharx... Drew's right. One thing you need to be careful of though.... IIRC, you have a 05 ? I believe it was the 05's that have the plastic intercooler ends. I've seen many stories about very poor connection of the plastic to the metal and they're very prone to blowing under high boost.

If that's what you have.... it's might behove you to do the cooler first.

What are some of the things you want to look for when buying a turbo? I'm no where near purchasing one, it's just more of a curiousity question. Are things just made better to handle the higher boost? What causes the EGT's to drop with a new turbo? Sorry for the ignorance, just new to the specs of tubo's.

Triton, I believe you mentioned you own your own business, what type of business do you own?
