Default my turbo froze up

where can one get a turbo kit to O/H a turbo, i heard it's a piece of cake, any ideas.

I am assuming your talking about a cartridge (just the center section). You used to be able to get them directly from cummins, but I think that they quit doing that because of warrenty issues. You'll probably endup with either a reman on a new piece.

Depends how bad it is. If it froze up, chances are your turbine shaft is toast. You'd be better off buying a new CHRA instead of a rebuild kit. If you do rebuild it yourself, index the shaft and compressor because they are balanced as a rotating assembly. If you do not realign them exacly how they were, your turbo will not be balanced and will likely fail or grenade before too long. If you have no experience rebuilding turbos I would suggest having a turbo repair shop do it.
