welcome to the forum James.
Which lift you go with depends on how much money you want to spend. You could do something for around $1000 up to 10K. You can sift through the manufacturer at this dealer who btw, is one of the biggest in the country for dealing with suspension. They have the ear of all the manufacturer.... http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/welcome.htm I was told by Superlift, Rocky Mountains sells close to 1500 kits a day between all the brands!
programmers increase the hp's your truck has so, yes.... they will play hell on your tranny. They're a good idea to get more power.... you just have to be smarty when stepping on the peddle. Eventually with continued ( heavy footed use ).... you will probably need some tranny work done.
There's a lot of programmers to choose from. You'll find many people partial to certain brands. What you'd need to do is read about the brands available and make your choice based on your needs.
IMO, I recommend the Smarty..... http://www.smartypower.com/HOME.html
