Burnt tranny up in the MT's (56k warning)
BEAUTIFUL shots Jake !!
Hearing about you fluid, I guess the only question I'd have is, were you low on fluid? Maybe if you were low on fluid going up a 12% grade THAT would heat things up wouldn't it? Especially if parts of the trans were un-covered in fluid from being low.
Just a guess ...

Fluid was full, also was fairly clean before going up. I just drained some out, seems to have some bronze in it[:@]. Putting royal purple in this time see how well it does.
IIRC Royal Purple does not make AFT+4 trans fluid for Dodge transmissions so you may want to get either Redline or Amsoil. I have Amsoil in mine and am very happy with it being in there and have used it in every Dodge transmission I've had over the past 7 years.
thanks for the reminder. I looked around the garage and found I still had 8 qts of valvoline- so that's getting used this time. I figure the royal purple outta go into the chevy just fine, it's about time to service the trans on it anyway.
by the end of the summer I believe we will all see pics if a burgandy dualy boiling the rear tires and the transmission being puked out from the bottom[8D]
