Cummins into Ford
Has anyone ever heard of dropping a cummins in a new ford? I really like the luxery of the fords and the looks, but the engines arnt all that great. Would it be possible to put a cummins into a ford? I know you would have to change out the electrical and mounts and stuff. But is it plausible?
theres an old mechanic here that dropped CUMMINS into everything out there. shouldnt be too much of a hassle to drop it in to a new ford..
just answer me one thing...WHY????????? a ford???
it may not be cheap either. ya do it yourself, the whole kit and kabudle have to transfer also (e.g. computer, etc)

That would be the best of the best. Ford trucks are durable and you can really beat but the motor is ridiculous. If you could find a way to do it I think you would have a truck that would last for a very very long time. Good luck with that.
I have owned fords for years but the motors wernt up to par. But i really like the interiors and looks. If I got a king ranch f250 and dropped a cummins into it, it would be the perfect truck.
The June issue of Diesel Power magazine just did an article on the guy who droppedthe Cummins inthe Ford. They gave a lot of info on how he did it. Didn't sound too easy.

There is a web site for a business that will repower anytruck with a Cummins engine. I can't recall the name or url, but you should be able to google it and find it. Good luck with your hunt.
I agree I love the supercab short bed superduties. I prefer the half door that doesn't havea handle on it rather than the two doors with handles on it like the dodge quad cab has. But the cummins is so much better i can deal with that.
