Default How to drain fluid from Torque Converter?

I am installing my Mag-Tech (spelling??)) transmission pan. The instructions say to drain the fluid from Torque Converter. Does anyone know how to do that? I have 06' CTD, auto-tranny (48RE).

I'm not completely sure why you would need to drain the fluid out of the tc if your just changing the pan and the pickup tube.

That's why I never fallow them. Seems like common sense is the better of the two

If all you are doing is adding a pan or doing a filter, I would skip that part. Just make sure youtop offwith the exact same fluidthat's in the tranny already.

You won't have any problems. Just start the truck when you go to add fluid, and keep the tranny in NUETRAL. Factory rams don't, and still today, may not circulate fluid in PARK. Neutral is a must.

Good luck with your ride.

If the valve body retaining bolts are loosened just the right amount the ATF will begin draining slowly from the torque converter. You can do an eight quart ATF change this way.

If the valve body retaining bolts are loosened too much,
the little check ***** from the top side of the valve body
passage ways fall out!
