I want turbine sound through exhaust.
By removing the silencer ring of the turbo, will I get any turbo whine through the exhaust, or will it just sound in the cabin from underneath the hood? I heard the other day some truck (didn't get the type but it wasn't a RAM) and it sounded just like a fighter jet upon takeoff.
How can I get this sound, or is it perhaps impossible?

Take the cummins out and put a Pratt & Witney turbo shaft turbine in.

That's an idea, needing the cash in Mayfer's hands and a little bit more.

When I remove the silencer ring, I won't get any more sound out of the exhaust?
You'll definately get more of the turbo sound by removing the ring, but if it's JETsound you want, that's gonna require a little more than a silencer ring removal. Basically, you'll be removing a HELLUVA lot of "hunny's" from your wallet !!

The jet sound is a figure of speech
, so to speak, but the thing I'm after is really wheather I get any turbine sound out back by removing the ring, or is the extra sound coming more from underneath the hood?
I don't really like to add any noise in the cabin, but some whine through the pipe would be nice.

I've got straight through with only a resonator and you can hear the turbo in my exhaust, only if you are decelerating or at idle. It is just a faint whistle in the exhaust. You can hear it reflect off of sound barriers and stuff. If you're looking for it on accel, I have no idea how to get that, all I hear then is the roar.
