Default Manual tranny fluid change

I just bought a used CTD with about 105K and I'm not sure if the 6-speed tranny fluid has ever been changed. I know that automatics are picky about oil...the old oil gums up and kinda holds things together if it isn't changed for a while. Then, if you decide to change it, you start having problems. I dunno about manual trannys, though. Anybody know if it'll start giving me trouble or if there is a good way to do this?

it is basically gear oil. could not hurt to change it if you are towing and putting a load on it, otherwise it is a manual transmission and you do all the work on it.

"I do all the work" ...as in instead of the detent *****, ports and stuff shifting gears? That seems pretty logical.

exactly. Might as well change the fluid as it will not be that expensive and then you can rest assured it is done.

I am thinking seriously about using the Royal Purple syncromesh (i think they call it). Anybody use it? I get a pretty decent price on it here on base.
