Default Transmission Question

How do I identiy what transmission I have? I went to napa's website and there were two options? I have a 2005, 2500 ctd 4x4.

Well...

If the shifter is on the steering column, then you have an automatic.

If the shifter is on the floor, then you have a manual.

What were the two options? I have a 48RE in mine.

when I went to the napa website to check filters it gave me 45rfe and 545rfe both listed as 4 speed automatics.

I was just getting filters fort he wifes fjcruiser. it is approaching 15000 miles and I do oil (full synthetic) every 5000 for her, and it is time for air filter and I want to do plugs as well.I am going to place a order from genosgarage this weekend for some fuel filters and oil filters for my rig.

When I went to NAPA a few weks ago to get a trans filter I got the same BS from them that there is no 48RE transmission listed for a Dodge 2500 w/CTD. I went to the dealership and got one in the parts dept. for $22.89 including tax and that was faster and easier then buying it on line and paying shipping charges.
