When taking off in my truck it seems to hold in first gear longer than normal. You can hear it and feel it as well. Also everyonce in a while when I start off I can feel a hop or bump even while gently accelerating. It feels like it is stuck in tow/haul, but it doesnt preform the engine breaking like in tow/haul mode. There are no check engine lights, and it runs perfect as soon as it gets out of first. What could be the prob?

 

Torque covertor Maybe? If youve been kickin it off from a dead stop alot it could be going south on you. Its hard not to do to with all that power aint it?

 

Mine's been doing the same thing. Just started this week. I was thinking torqe converter.

Only 7k miles on it. I did tow with it for the first time last weekend.

 

I am pretty easy on it, and it only has 35,000 miles. Could that be the cause of that problem?

 

i get that right off the line at a red light or stop sign. ill be holding breaks waiting and then all of a sudden my truck SOMETIMES nudges forward with me holding break lightly. then i hit accelerator because light turns green and it kinda jumps or hesitates a split second. (maybe the antispin diff making a corner???)

 

Mine doesnt nudge, it just bumps when I take off and it holds first gear too long. Do you think a computer flash migth help since the computer controls shifting?

 

I just mine reflashed for poor mileage and it shifts alot smoother and quicker. You might try that.
