RE: Dodge 600 Diesel--- True 600 or not?
heres a pic I just took, where it has the horsepower rateing, if it says 305 it is the 555 04 model. 325, it's the 600, 04.5 model. for 05 models it would be the 610 and still be labled 325.
the only difference between the 600's and the 610's is a TSB that is for the engine. if you bring it in and complain of excessive white smoke at cold start or sluggish performance, they update the computer, in the process you get the same programming the 05's get and then you have just a little bit more torque. nothing that you could truly feel since the torque band is so flat, but it's there.
I havent needed to take mine in for any sort of warranty work even after 11,000 miles, when it's in the 20's in the morning I get a little smoke, but nothing to freak me out. Ive worked with diesels alot, white smoke just means your running lean, it usualy clears up after a few min or running.
