Kingdog,

I'm running the Aero 4040XL where the cat was, with a Diamond Eye in place of the stock muffler. Under 1500 RPM's, if you lug the engine it drones in the cab. Also, over 2200 RPM's it roars pretty good.

In all honesty.....it gets a little annoying. I try to keep my RPM's right at 2K on the highway (72 MPH) because as soon as you hit 2200, it gets loud. If you cruise at or less than that, it' pretty quiet.

put the 4040 (not the 4040xl) where the cat is and you will be happy. your egt's should go down, your tone will change just a bit (IMO) and your motor will rev a tad bit faster (IMO from what i've seen with my truck)

That is the way that I was thinking of going right from the start, and if the motor revs a bit faster, oh oh, because it sure revs fast now when I step on it, so much so that I have to hold way back when stepping on it, I don't meat the truck goes, but with the auto trany it kicks down and will scream, scared the crap out of me ( happened once in a brain fart moment LOL )

I was thinking about that , but we have emissions test's up here and I also have to have an anual inspection done on it, I am not sure what the check in the anual, but I know in the emissions they will "look" to see if there is a CAT on it , if the vehicle was manufactured with one,the rest on the test is watch it idle for 5 minutes LOL

then it might be better to just leave it on. otherwise you'll have to put it back on for the inspection.

Wait .... re-reading your first post I thought you WERE trying to eliminate the cat? Now I'm confused.

Are you trying to eliminate it or not? Where's the Aero fit into all of this?

I'm SOOOOO easily confused ....

Yea ME TO !!

Yes I am trying to get rid of the CAT, but still want to have something that looks like a CAT for the inspections, maybe I should just gut the CAT, anyone know about doing that ?

gutting the cat will make a hollow sounding exhaust. which sounds retarded.

just throw the 4040 in there and be done with it.
