Ive seen a 5.9 in a dakota RCSB. . .only problem the guy had was keeping the rear tires on the rims. . .he had a problem with them constantly blowing.

Jake is right about the 5.9 w/P7100. . .all you need is a wire for the shut-off solenoid, and the wireing for the starter. everything else is mechanical.

you will need beefier motor mounts, and beef up the front end a bit. however a 96 5.9 w/ a built auto would haul some serious butt.

Heck, most of the big rigs are switching to air bags. Don't use a 44 for the rear, you'll want the 60. You'll blow up the 44 the first time you get traction.

4.6L v6and a 5.6L v8

the 4.6L will push about the same juice as a stock 98 and the 5.6L will be rated at around 300hp and 550tq.
