why are you adding 1 oz per pint of 2 stroke ?
1oz of 2 stroke per gallon of diesel fuel right into the gas tank.

It's been a hot topic lately about wether or not the new fuel blend has enough lube in it for our engines, so adding the 2 stroke gives you the nessassary insurance / piece of mind.

Here's a link all about it ...

What year cats? there was a recall/ tsb on some of them that the dipstick was incorrectly marked and also there was some programming to take care of the oil consumtion.

So do you ever actually use motor oil between changes?
Between changes in what?

I've been adding a little 2 stroke oil ( 1oz per gallon ) to my diesel fuel at every fill up if that's what you mean.
Between oil changes. You do change oil, right Mayfair?

Well, let's see. He's owned a 87, 89, 90 425 cats, 95 475 cat, 99 500 cat, all Petes. Now he drives a 05 Kenworthless 475 cat and considering he logs over 1million miles on each truck, I suppose when he mentioned oil usage, it was to be expected. Btw, he hates the new dual turbo setup with smog control. Overheats easily and gets worse mileage than his old 3406.

LOL ... NOW I get it !!!

Drew did a really good job of answering that question, about 1 pint between 10K oil changes. I change my oil every 5 K and I don't really notice any drop off at all.

Oh, good! I was afraid I was gonna have to draw you a picture. Ba-ZING!
Seriously, that's good news that they don't burn much then. Hey, I've read on here that you don't get good mileage with your 24v. Any new info you've dug up? The FASS didn't help? I'd hate to find the truck of my dreams then get the same mileage I do with my gas hog.
