It isn't hard to race with a stick, but it is hard on the transmission. These are truck trans missions, they aren't built for slammin gears. If you do that often enough, you'll be needin synchros. My coworker has a 97 ram that put 305 hp and 680 ftlbs to the rear wheels. He has a built auto in it.
so for a good all around truck what is better the stick or the auto i mean its not gonna be a race car but of course you gotta smoke the occasional rice burner!
It's all what you want to do. You'll have to get a built auto if you go for an auto. You'll have to get a built manual if you go for a manual. I myself would prefer the manual. Since there aren't any 02 extened cab drw witha manual for sale around here, I bought an auto.
yea i mean lookin for a nice 12valve around here is hard and narrowing the search to manual makes it harder so if i look for either one i have more selection and if it comes to it i would get an auo... so u are saying that a 5spd would be for preference and an auto could still be good.... and i know i have to get an aftermarket trans eventually anyway
