My camper maxes out at 9800 lbs I would love to see any of the 1/2 ton trucks hook up to it and run with me. I do it in comfort and my truck doesn't even break a sweat, and my truck will still be doin it at 100K miles. Let's see your turd-ra do that, it's with in the "tow rating".

yeah that would be an awesome test Nick... to expand on it further...hook up a 10k trailer to one of these 1/2 tons & the same load to a CTD and run it around the country for a year, average 822 miles/day and you'd be around 300k... that would be an awesome test to see how long the 1/2 tons would last. Also, how much $ would it take in a year to maintain the 1/2 tons on the same test... the CTD would blow it away for sure...

Back in the day, I had an 85 Dodge 1/2 ton 318 LB that would pull my 2 horse trailer/horses with my 8ft overhead camper loaded with all the gear I could jam in it. Now it weren't no speed demon or nothin but it would pull that load from hell to breakfast! Can't rememberhow they advertised then...Just my.02

Not to mention those little gas tanks they put in the smaller trucks. The 1/2 ton would be stopping for gas every 150 miles, while I would be stopping every 350 or so. The driver of the other guys truck would probably quit after a week of that.

Yeah, I agree, those comercials get on my nerves too. But I also understand that there's big bucks at stake, hence all the hype and propaganda.Too bad for those who buy into it and think that their400hp400ft-lbsgas engines are comparable to a diesel.
