Why does everyone say you should never see black smoke from a exhaust on a doesel. You should always see black smoke when hard on accelerater. Maybe not cruising speed ot idling but when i lay into pedal mine blows black smoke and same thing with all the 199, 965, 987,685 semi trucks on the road. they puff black when going hard into gears.if yours doesnt blow black then you might have a gas hemi instead.

 

only the 07 emission engines. They have a filter on the exhaust

 

also the ULSD doesnt burn like the LSD of the past. ULSD burns cleaner with less soot.

I'm not saying that it wont blow smoke, however for an 07 to blow more than a haze means something isnt working right.

 

Good news for you BKS, I was at my dealer today talking to the tech that worked on my truck. The conversation turned to the 6.7 and I told him a little of your problem. He said there is a brand new flash out to fix it. The other diesel tech was in the lot flashing all the trucks they had in stock while we were talking. Go to your dealer and get the diesel tech to look for the TSB they shoukd be able to fix it with a flash.

 

I am going to take it to the dealer as soon as possible I am in cedar city and will be here for a while so I can let the dealer have it for more than two hours.
