Default Help on steering

A while back I had a recall done on my '05 dually 2wd. They replaced the front coil springs. Since then it has pulled to the left. Took it in to the dealership to check it out, and found out they can't get it on there alignment rack due to the size of the truck. So they sent it to a local alignment shop (very reputable) and still pulls to the left. The computer readout from the front end shop says it is perfect-alignment, toe, caster, camber, everything. So the dealer swapped front tires around, nothing. Rotated front to back and nothing. All they did was replace the coil springs, nothing should of changed. Anyone got any ideas? The dealer still thinks its an alignment problem so tuesday it goes back. They said they will remove the outside duals and try to get it on there rack. Pulls really good, let go of the steering wheel and it will change lanes on me. Anyone have there coil springs replaced with any ill effects?

p.s. I think I am going to like this dealership. Nice people, they are trying hard to get me fixed up. As for hotrod parts, the owner has a megacab with everything banks makes on it, and they will also install any hipo parts that I want. They don't have a problem with aftermarket parts and warranties, saying that unless the aftermarket part caused the problem they will honor warranties.

Sounds like a bound caliper to me. That or a ruptured brake line.

That would be guess, for what it's worth.

You guys aren't hauling around one of Mayfair's calendar girls in the bed? If so, tell her to quit sitting on the left side.

have them check the bearings front & rear... a tight bearing could cause a pull. Then as suggested earlier, the caliper could have dirt init on the left side which is applying the brakes slightly causing a pull.

Well .... as usual I'm a little confused.

Does it pull just driving down the street, or does it only pull when you hit the brakes?

Down the street .... I like Steve's suggestion about a tight bearing. I can DEFINATELY see that happening

Hit the brakes ... As Demon suggested, a caliper hanging up. Could be a bad brake line, caliper, something like that

I would say youve got a brake line problem. since the only thing that was changed outwere the springs, you probably had someone who stretched or pulled a line.

dodge brake lines are notorious for closing up. typically this happens under the metal strap that secures it to the upper control arm. I would make several hard brake applications (sitting still with the wheels off-Then see how hard it is to spin each wheel by hand-if the left seems harder to turn then open the bleeder screw on that caliper-while turning the rotor see if the resistance goes away-if so youve got yourself a bad brake hose.
