What style would you get?
I have just been looking around for awhile at diesels, and of course Cummins is no doubt the best. Now, I just have a couple of ideas of my own. When and if I get a diesel while I am still in high school, when I am leaving school on a warm day, I want to rev up the diesel and smoke em out, that **** some people off. I especially want to do it to the little *** ricers that think they have got something.....hahaha. Heres my real question, if you were in my position (16, not much money) looking for a diesel, would it be worth it to wait for a second gen diesel than a first, since aftermarket parts are crazy, and not many aftermarker parts for first gen. I like the second gen a lot better, the style and everything. I plan on buying a dually, longbed, regular cab, and a 5 or 6spd, whatever they have.....oh, and 4x4. What do you think, is it worth the wait? My first plan is to get the truck then to put stacks on it! Thanks for all your help, I just can't stop thinking about Cummins, do they make a medicine for it?
noo they do not make medicine for it ive been in the market as well!! lol but as far as buying youre first diesel save youre money for what you really want it will be worth it when you have it!
I just like the style, and when one of my friends get stuck, they will know who to call (the bad *** with the dually). Also, I plan on getting a camp trailer for hunting. I honestly don't care if it is a dually or not, as long as it is a diesel, I won't mind.
16 and not a whole lotta money i say look for a second gen non dually that'd be not as expensive as a dually. and unless the trailer is gonna be fairly large then you'll be fine iwth a three quarter ton truck. but yea i say second gen they look a lot better.

I think a 3/4 would be awsome, it really would not matter to me as long as it is not a 1/2 ton. I will be pulling around a 20ft trailer, not too big, but my brother has a 75 chevy that could easily get the job done, I just want a new truck, because my ranger is not going to pull a trailer. I also definitely want manual, but if the price is right, I will take an auto. 2nd gens do look nice, that is why I want one. I did find one that was $5k, which is about 3 grand less than I normally see. Now, I am debating whether or not I need or want a 4x4? I mean, I do go hunting, but I don't want to scratch it, I don't want to pay for high insurance, larger tires, lift, and I would probably take it off-roading with one of my friends and get dents and dings. So, 2wd looks pretty nice now. Here is kind of what I want, I do like this truck though, pretty much just what I want. Here it is ........http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/car/352343514.html

You probably don't need 4x4 for a daily driver or occasional towing. 4x4 is more expensive, but 4x2 seems to be harder to find. Unless you are seriously mechanically inclined, you should be sure to have a mechanic look at any truck before you buy.
