Default Pullin the "Gauge Trigger" today ...

I'm going to order my gauges today ... FINALLY. I've succumbed and decided to just go with the A-pillar mount. I was hopeing to actually see one before ordering, but screw it, I think it'll be fine. I was hopeing not to ruin my stock pillar, but I guess that aint happenin either.

Here's my question ...

I've decided to go with the Autometer gauges over the Isspro's, and they offer a few different choices as far as Boost gauges go.

0-35

0-60

0-100

I was thinking of just shooting in the middle at 0-60, but I figured I'd run it by you guys first since I have no idea what my boost is even supposed to register.

Which boost gauge should I go with?

Any other opinions welcomed !!

I would say go with 60, But Jake would probably be bast to answer that question. I think that should be more than enough even to handle power mods.

Based on what I think your plans are for the truck, 0-35 would suit your needs. From the sounds of it, you dont have plans on modding the crap out of it. On my TST, my boost will max out at 35psi and thats when I put it to therugs on a higher setting. I see about 6-8 while normal driving and 14-20 when running a grade or passing. Under all normal driving conditions when the TST is on 1, I rarely see over 25psi.

Just my .02

No, I don't plan on moddig it at all really. My goal is to try and keep it alive and kickin as long as possible rather than make it a hot rod. It's my daily driver not my weekend warrior.

no mods. . .or light mods, the 35psi will do. the 60 will also do nice. I like my 35 just cause I can peg it out. . .kinda fun watching that, however when I turn the boost limit off the TST the boost needle will probably break from it shooting past 35on it's way to 50+.

not only that but I believe your waste gate is set to a max of 26#. so the 35 will still give you some head room so you can actualy watch when the thing opens up and fluctuates.

Yeah, I don't plan on really modding, so it sounds like going with the 35 would be best ifI really wanna see that needle swing. I had no idea what the range was for my boost currently. I didn't want to get the 35 and then realize that I should have gone with something bigger. If my boost is rarely going to go above 25, then yeah, the 35 would probably be best.

for me, cruising at 70mph I'll see 8-10 on a flat grade, 12-15 when going up hill. 18 when pulling.

accelerating under moderate throttle it'll hit around 18-20 when I hit 4-6. 1-2-3 even with the throttle on the asphalt and pushing 3K under load I wont get much above 6. but then again thats with 4.10 axels

only under heavy throttle in the higher gears do I see over 30.

Do you ever go above 30? I DO like to step it up a bit sometimes on the highway.

5th and 6th gear I can easily push it past 35#, heck I could do it stock. I would say you would hit 30 max and then level down once the waste gate has opened.

OK, I'll go with the 35 then. I'd rather see that needele SWING baby !!! If I'm not gonna get past 35lbs, there's no sense in going bigger than that.

Thanks !!
