Professional RV Movers...?
Ok, so I got back last night from driving from Minneapolis to Milwaukee (after driving the reverse the day before) and it was pretty cool watching a bunch of old Classic cars on the I-94 (sometimes I-90) corridor.
But, the other thing I saw was Ram 2500/3500 Diesels all over the place!!! I mean, I seriously must have seen upwards of 40 trucks! and about 30 of those were Duellys with RVs on the back, and all that good USDOT stuff on the side. So, question is, is there a RV company that just owns a fleet of these trucks? or do a bunch of guys who live close/work for the company happen to own them and they all get paid to move RVs? I wouldn't really ask, except for the sheer number of them I saw! I mean sure, I saw a batch (of 3) that were Chevys, but almost constantly Dodges.
Oh yeah, I passed one on the same direction as me, but it was a Hemi... so I guess that's why I breezed past it in my 89 Taurus...

it used to be all fords you saw, with a few dodges and a few chevies. . .but since the intorduction of the 6.oh-no many of the guys dont want to be stranded along the side of the road so they dumped for and got dodges and chevies.
I hjave been thinking of changing careers lately, I make decent money usually pull around 60k annual, not insane money but enough to survive in Az. but I am tired of the industry (mortgage collections) I am just not sure what direction to go.
I live in MN and have noticed the same thing. They have been out in full force since spring. I drive 94/694 everyday to and from work and I probably see at least 3 a day. Majority of which ar dodge.
Most of the tags I see are from Dakotas and they are usually heading home. I know there is a big maufacturer (I believe it's Wilwood) in Michigan that get shipped/pulled out here.

My BIL just bought a Volvo to do just that haul RV's to the dealers, calls it an 8 ton duelly.
I have noticed on my yearly trip to FL. that the trucks towing are dodges, contractors are almost always ford, but in FL the most common is chevy. The dodge is by far the choice for towing.

That's a pretty cool gig. I wonder how much they make doing that?

There is 3 or 4 companies that do this sort of thing. I don't know any names off hand. Yes, you get paid to tow rv's all over the country. Different places pay different rates. It is a good way to get paid to drive your Dodge. My wife doesn't like it when I'm gone to Salt Lake City for the day with a load of scrap iron, so I can't even think about doing the "long-haul" any more. That's ok. My mining job has better benifits and an awsome schedule that gives me 7 days in a row off once a month. $80,000 to work half the year!
