Default Transmission update...

Well it's been 4~5 days now since getting the tranny back and the biggest thing I notice is that I can now get full boost in OD consistantly. I always had trouble nailing it in OD and getting full boost, not a problem now. Tranny grabs much better and now that I've had it a few days, can see the difference between the stocker & the HD version.

My TST is on it's way back with R49 programming... cant wait to get it! [sm=badbadbad.gif] Now I can use all the power my little lift pump can provide (the next weak link)

So what exactly did you do to the tranny and how much did it cost.

Mayfair: the walbro & fass are close in price so I'm not sure which way to go... probably the walbro from Glacier Diesel, and that will be a while. My steering stabilizer took a dump so that's next to get swapped.

2nd gear band was shot in the old tranny and it was going to run $1500 to fix so I took it all the way and had it rebuilt for roughly $2700, tossed in a triple lock converter and it ended up being about $3800. the rebuild kit was a heavy duty one with better band & better clutches. 7 vs 5 in the old setup for 3rd.

Hoping to get my *** up to the mtns early enough so we can go explore some of the trails that are out there. the guys are supposed to be here by 4pm which would put us at camp by 7~7:30 so the opportunity is there...

Check with Drew first. I believe he mentioned some problems with the Walbro's lately.
