Default Edge attitude and tranny temps

Reading here and over at DTR I see everyone say "I have my transmission temperature sensor mounted......". I installed the edge and the attitude monitor gives me a tranny temp readout, where does it pick this up from? What temps are some of you guys seeing? Mind seeems to get up to about 180-190 stop and go empty and the same with about 2000# behind it. If I get to cruising at about 60mph it will drop to around 180-185.

I don't know where it gets the temp, probably ECM or PCM. I was towing about 8K in 100 deg. temps and mine got up to 200, engine temp showed 210-212.

My engine temp has maxed at 202 while tranny has maxed at 192 according to the monitor.

I'm going to put in a seperate trans temp guage with the sensor in the cooler line here shortly so I have a better idea what it really is.

I believe it reads your MAP sensor (plug from the Juice to the trucks MAP sensor plugin). Unless it's different from the 2004.5/2005 Juice model.

Hey Speakle, I agree that the Edge Juice box picks up the temp from the truck computer. I also have an Isspro temp gauge that has a standard sensor installed into my deep dish pan. You can see it on my camera pic's. I do see a difference that the pan temp runs about 20 degrees cooler than the computer readout. I inquired about the sensor fitting plugged into the cooler line leaving the tranny, and was told that it was a bit un-nerving for some people sitting at a red light watching the temp rise on them. I decided to just use the pan fitting to get an over all sense of the temps. Good luck with your decision.
