Fluid wouldn't be flowing pass it anyway, those are pressure test ports. The gauge would react slow compared to temp changes internally in the trans. The most accurate would to put it into the cooler out line right at the trans, I believe someone makes a direct replacement cooler line with a port in it for a sending unit.

that is what I was afraid it was going to come to, I guess I will order one and have it shipped to my vacation location and install it while I am there. I should have known better than to do business with these guys and buy the stuff from the right place the first time! Now I am so pissed I cannot see straight!

If it's the one on their "clearance" page, it's used. A new one's only $20.00 more.
