major problems with 6.7 cummins

2009 6.7 diesel begining to suck
35k Miles and had this thing in three times for turbo issues, top speed 20mph, engine light comes on.
Only in the Mtns of Colorado, in Denver seems to be fine.
They clean the turbo and the filters, fresh air in the tires and clean windsheild.
nothing fixes the problem.
Going to Brandon Dodge in Littleton for the work. I was also told I am not towing enough weight to make the engine work hard enough...BS on that scam.
Looking around to dump this thing...and the dodge brand name!!

Cna noy Idle
do to the EPA rules on the deisel engines by the GOVT. standards and the fuel with low sulfer will leave particles that will not burn off so Dodge trucks have a piticular filter. That will burn the particles off driving at 55 mph or better. You can not let the truck Idle for a long period of time or the filter will clog up becuase the filter is not hot enough to burn the particles from the low sulfer fuel just Idling.Your information center or evic will tell you that you are at 70%,8o% or 90 % full .when that happens you need to take the truck out and drive it at 55 mph or better to burn off the particles.NOW IF YOU LET IT GET TO 100% FULL THE engine will lock up and you have to replace the filter and it is not a little filter either.
When there was no change in the fuel for thr deisel trucks you could run the 5.9 and idle for as long as you wanted. Also the dodge ram 2500-3500- is the only truck on the market that does not require DESEIL EXHAUST FLUID..That is why they have a piticular filter.
How long can you leave it idle for do not know but your information center on your truck will let you know that you are getting close to being full.

If your not working theses new diesels hard and get the egt's up on a regular basis, or do extended idleing, then you are going to have issues. I know the 6.7 "PowerStroke" has an idle timer that kills the engine if it idles for 10min or so.
As for the truck not running right at elevation in the mountains, have you tried a new MAF or MAP sensor?

All three use additional fuel to heat up the DPF and burn the particles off; the Cummins and I believe the 6.4/6.7 Powerstroke do this as a function of changing the timing and adding fuel on the exhaust stroke, whereas the LMM/LML Duramax has a ninth injector.
The DEF has absolutely nothing to do with cleaning the DPF; DEF is sprayed in the exhaust stream and combines with particles and creates a chemical reaction with NOx and basically converts it so you have H2O coming out the pipe. I'm no chemist, in fact I've failed the last two chemistry classes I've attempted, so the particles and end product may not be accurate. The rest is though
