the fix for this is a DPF delete pipe,EGR delete....and a Smarty programmer to make it all work right...... Just bought an 08 taday with a blown up engine at 110k miles because the owner didnt follow precautions

Victoria,

Sorry to hear about your current concerns with your truck? How often does this happen? When was the last time you were at the dealer for diagnostics?

If you'd like additional assistance reviewing your concern I'd be happy to help, just PM me the name of your servicing dealer long with your VIN#.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Bought a 5.9 in 2007!
Traveled to Dave Smith to get it and saved $10,000 including airfare and fuel to get home.

Glad I didn't try to talk the locals down on the 6.7

Last truck I will ever buy.

2008 6.7 is the worst truck I've ever owned. It has been in the shop w/major problems longer than it has been on the road. I wish I had my 5.9 back.

My 08 was rarely in the shop, except for the time I broke the transmission. Of course, I removed the egr and dpf the week I bought it.

Rescuewiz,

What kind of problems are you having with your Ram? Is there anything outstanding or ongoing at this time? Let me know if you would like any assistance resolving any current concerns.

LOL guess I'm not doing too bad at 13.5-14.5MPG with a 500hp truck...
Sad that stock new engines aren't getting any better in fuel economy.

unless he did DPF, cat, and EGR deletes: definitely not

that's cause you were smart enough to leave the egr/dpf gnomes unattended next to your truck

Yeah, I really liked my 08. The 6-speed auto was pretty nice for towing, and having it use a brain for downshifting and keeping on the exhaust brake was really nice. 15 mpg on my daily commute wasn't bad considering it was a 7500 pound, 500 hp truck.
