While were on the subject, does anyonerunning the 305/70/17 Terra G's? If so, any pics? Do you need a leveling kit for those (I believe they are 34" tall and 12" across.)

Off subject - How in the he$$ do you post a picture on here? If you embed it does it not show up in the preview?

Hey Master... Welcome to DF.

No info here on the TG's sorry. you will need a leveling kit I think...

as far as posting pics, if you do a post reply, you can embed a pic that you upload to the DF servers... otherwise, if you have a link to a pic you can click on the "Add Image" button in the toolbar at the top of the edit window and put a link in there. it'll show up like Savages pic.

To answer your original question, no with that boat/trailer you don't need E rated tires. I pull a 5th wheel at about 7800 lbs with D rated tires, without problems, although I really should be runing E rated I guess. The E rating gives you stiffer sidewalls and are rated for more load. The key here for you is the tongue weight, which I suspect would be about 300 lbs for your boat trailer.
I run 305/70/16 BF Goodrich TAs Good all around tire, but I do get a bit of rub.
Regards, Glenn
