Default New to board and new to diesels...already having problems

What's happening fellas. New to the board here...I just bought an 05 3500QC 2wd with 104K a little over a month ago and have been in love with it since I test drove it, it is PERFECT condition, so I thought...Now I'm having problems with it i was hoping some of you might have some input. After 2 weeks of owning it I put a Brute Force intake on it and did the turbo mod for sound and also added a Triple Dog the week before last. After I put the TD on it it felt like it was confused on shifting between 1st and 2nd but made good power and was very responsive. I bought the unit used from a friend who had lost the OBD2 plug. I borrowed one from another friend who has a Power Pup to load up the ECU. Once I got it loaded I set it on Tow/Economy and have had a new plug on order. I've only run the Extreme program for the half hour I had the cord from my friend.

This morning when I left for work the truck was reluctant to even get out of the driveway and the tranny slipped all the way to work. When I left work I unloaded the BD off the ECU and it is still doing it BAAAD! Has anyone had a problem like this and if so what was the fix? I'm hoping not to have to replace the tranny, but I have to do what I have to do. Could the Bully Dog be the reason its all messed up??

Any suggestions?
If I have to fix the tranny who would be the person to send it to?

I appreciate any and all input and I'm sorry to start my first post with a BS problem like this.

Eric

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear you're having problems. I don't know a lot about automatics, but if you're willing to learn doing stuff yourself saves you a ton of money. I'm sure someone with a little more expertise will be by shortly to give you some advice.

I'm all about doing it myself, as far as removing and reinstalling. When it comes to rebuilding something like a tranny, I'll leave that up to the pro's.[sm=smiley16.gif]

I just ran downtown real quick, and it drove fine for the most part. Getting on the interstate I noticed it slipping, its almost selective...Maybe its the tq convertor...I hope.

Most likely the transmission with 104k could not handle all the power you put through it...

I would drop the pan and change the filter and fluid. Hopefully you don't see anything in the pan.

There was a thread a while back about the Bully dog programmer having a bad program.
It screwed a few guys trannies up.
They had to call Bullydog get step by step instructions tormeove I think it was the 3.7 program and install the new 3.8
program.
I'm sorry my memory is a little sketchy on the details.
U can do a search and see if U can find the thread.

Picked up fluid and a filter when I went downtown earlier, that will be the task for tomorrow.

As soon as I got off work today I pulled the program off and it didn't change anything, even when I shifted it manually. I hope that takes care of it. The whole reason I bought an 05 was to get the "better" tranny, this sucks.

This is a helluva way to introduce myself.

By the way, my name is Eric

EDIT: Thanks for everyones quick reply.

hey Eric... the stock tranny is fine for a stock truck, bump the power and it needs to be updated. I just got thru rebuilding mine with a heavy duty kit & triple lock TC... performs awesome, holds all the power I've thrown at it so far... my bet is your govenor pressure sensor or solenoid has crapped out. since it regulates the pressure thru the system, if ones not working right, you'll have problems...

btw... the CTD FAQ has lots of great info in it, have a look... it's tacked at the top of the forum
