Default Anyone have any tips on removing the caliper bracket???

I've got one rotor that's shot on my 00 3/4 ton CTD and another that needs to be turned. The only thing stopping me is the 12 point bolts that hold on the caliper, brake shoes, and rotor. If anyone has any tips on how to get the stubborn things off I'd appreciate it.

can ya post a pic?

other wise, a 12 point socket works.

sure there arent 2 bolts on top of the rotor that allows the caliper to be removed?

I about killed myself on my breaks till I realized I was after the wrong parts for removal [:'(]

also make sure that you get DIESEL rated rotors if replacing. they always list the gas truck rotors first 3000lb rated when a diesel needs the extra hv duty breaks (5000lbrated).

The caliper removes without a problem. Its the bracket that holds on the brake shoes themselves that's the pain. And I'm not too sure that the driver's side has been removed since it was put on at the factory. Thanks for the counterclockwise tip though. I always hate trying to figure out which way it is and find out that you're going the wrong way
