Default Turning a SB into secure storage space...

I wonder if there are ways to achieve this...

In the case of the short bed on a 2500 not being much utilized in
the traditional way... are there any implements sold that allow to
transform it into a sort of secure (covered and locked) storage
compartment? Basically, just like a huge trunk...

I think I saw something like that on a Toyota Tundra pickup once...

There are some fiberglass hard top tonneau covers that have a lock over the tailgate. That would be the closest thing that I can think of. You'd also have to get a locking tailgate handle also.

Do you know of any sites where I could get a good graphic idea
of these options?

I just discovered that a google search under "Truck Caps & Lids"
reveals hundreds of companies providing this type of products...
Wow! There is a TREMENDOUS market for this type of thing out
there, and a huge amount of offers from many different
manufacturers. Check it out!

I usually use google for basically everything... I just did not think
there was such a huge market for those items (I don't recall seeing
much of that stuff around - perhaps I didn't notice because I hadn't
been looking for them, lol)... I was shocked to discover that those
things are all over the place... not just lids, but also full size steel caps
that essentially can transform your truck into something like a huge
SUV...

BTW, a couple of questions regarding your 06 truck
Did you have second thoughts after getting the Laramie package
(do you feel it was worth it the extra money, compared to an SLT...)
and the mega cab, also, do you feel it was worth it the extra
thousand $$$ compared to the QC?

Thanks...

My neighboor has a full diamond plate bed cover. It is pretty crazy lookin' , but I don't think I like it very much (to shiney for me). It does look very secure though .
