How bad is your fuel mileage while towing?

RE: How bad is your fuel mileage while towing?
I get 13-14 hand calculated pulling 2 place horse trailer at 60-70 mph. I have about 5200 miles on mine. Unless your racing up Pikes Peak I would say something might be wrong. I took it easy for the first 750 or so like these guys said to, then let her rip.

not sure what i would get towing but i just went on a 400 mile round trip 2 weeks ago and i got 13-14 mpg unloaded. going around 70-80 mph without a led foot (mostly cruise control).... i got about 18k on my truck and i have a straight thru exhaust, clean air filter, and i use the brew......our truck's must be lemon's!

mine were hand calculated numbers, because the computer consistently lies by about 2-3mpg.
Out of curiousity, does anyone know why? or has anyone ever addressed fixing this?
the issue would have to be with however it reads and/or computes fuel consumption, because the trip odometer is consistantly dead on with the one on the dash. Would be real slick if the thing was actually right, I miht not have gotten myself in such a close predicament coming up here when it said I had a lot more miles "DTE" than I actually did. Luckily someone built a fuel station in the middle of nowhere for me!
