RE: Rear diff oil change with Limited Slip Diff(LSD)
I talked to a few people, the parts guy at dodge told me that the $20 per quart is what I needed. I went down to the auto parts store and looked at what the gear oil lube required and found that Lucas puts out a gear oil with all the requirements to fit my needs and it's $12 per quart, it's up to you what you want to do, I know that the lucas fits all of my requirements in my 03. I don't know what your book says you need. I know the Haynes Repair Manual says the same thing for 02 - 05. So I figure it'd work on yours too.

I could be mistaken, but for some reason I don't think you'll ned any special additive in a 2004. I'm sure someone else will chime in and know for sure, but I seem to remember Drew mentioning that he didn't need anything special in his Ram.
What does your manual say?

you dont need the additive... doesnt need it. I use Redline 75-90, you should use the heavier oil since your towing. It's my plan to do mine tomorrow as well, I however am not going to yank the covers... have an electric pump to suck out the oil and pump it back in. I wont be yanking the diff cover until the next time around.
also, next week is coming fast did you still want to borrow the flash? the plan is to head out on Thur morning...

You don't need an additive, but you need to make sure what ever oil you choose it meets the limited slip requirements, I do believe it says no additive required but, talking to the parts guy and my friend (semi truck mechanic) if you don't use the oil that meets the min requirements which most synthetic gear oils do, MOST, not all, you'll fry your rear end. I'm probably going to run a little bit heavier oil from a trucking company, the owner is a friend and he said he'd sell me some, it's synthetic 90-120 or something like that. Should be fine and dandy, My truck should be on the road most of the summer so the heavier weight should help.
