Default ok I gotta get your input on this

we know my fi pump is shot.

would the lack o' fuel account for the loss of compression I get from a dead start, or would that be an air issue?

it litteraly feels like dead spots in the ignition system if I had one...

just hopin Im not burnin a cyl or loosin a head gasket.

I plan to pull the injectors Sunto have them tested and cleaned first thing Monday morn. maybe they are clogged causing a secondary power loss.

what yall think?

[sm=confused06.gif]I don't know alot about diesel , but I believe
that those are 2 seperate issues.
Unless U blame the pump for burning a valve.
As far as I know your FIP should relate to timing more than compression.
If ya got a miss you could blame that pump .
But as far as compression loss.
It would have to be the gasket or avalve or worse piston rings.

Its most likely the fuel pump or injectors that are causing a problem.

if it was a gasser Id say that I am losing compression elsewhere. with a diesel, I understand that compression loss means IT WONT RUN ...PERIOD!!

thats why I brought it in front of the mighty DF CUMMINS board.

I didnt really have a problem with anything till the fip started goin. I replaced inj #2 with a new unit. thinkin that "free" flow off set the other 5 bad enough due to build up on em.!?!?!?

thanks for the input guys!

I will update mon after i have the injectors inspected and cleaned.
