Default RE: Exhaust SOUNDS

I have a 2003 HO CTD (ISB305), It has no cat on it, just a muffler, and I have a cold air intake (K&N) on it. (guess I probably should add that to a signature or something...)
I like loud, my bike had straight pipes on it (baffles removed), I had a 5.9L gasser 1500 that I cut the muffler off and had headers on it and I LOVED the sound.
nick- I agree it might be hard to use audio, but maybe if there was a stock and then modified setup. Yeah maybe it was all just a pipe dream though...
Savage- that is a good idea to do a little at a time... How much louder (percent) was the muffler cat delete? Any resinant issues in cab between 50 and 70?
Sharx- Let me know how it sounds!!! I am looking at doing a straight 5" but not sure if it would give me a headache at50-70 mph (since I have a cross countrymove in october to do...)

I think I am going to try and cut off the muffler and see how it sounds... Can anyone think of any issues with that (burnt valves or the like)?

Thanks for the input guys!

No problem. Before my Silverline, I had my stock exhaust cut right before the muffler and dumped out right under the rear passenger seat. It was obnoxiously loud in the cab. About 1700-1800 RPM is where the drone was rediculous. I have absoloutly no complaints with my Silverline. The install was easy too.

I don't know if it'll help, but I'll post a video with exhaust sound when I get my truck back this week. I'll also try to get a stock sound from my father's truck for a baseline. I have a Magna-flow5" turbo-back into dual 4" after the muffler.

Try this, 4"straight pipe to 5" turndown tip. This is with drivers window down and passenger window up.
