Default I'm off... again

well, this weekend is the backpacking weekend into Yosemite... packing back to Little Yosemite valley, then day hiking back to Merced Lake. Depending on what kind of shape we're in, we may try to tackle Clouds Rest... best case, the day hike will be 19~20 miles... worst case to include Clouds Rest, 24~26 miles... ouch! good thing the hike back to the lake is mostly flat...

Heading up soon to go get the permits & get setup in the backpacking camp, then go wheel back to Cherry Lake & possibly hike back to this other lake in the area. [sm=happybounce.gif]

anyways... back on Sunday night

I alway thought you should camp an relax and not walk 20+ miles a day when you go to Yosemite!

But thats ok as I'm heading out as well. I'm going fishing on the Mississippi river later today with my father & mother inlaw and wife and will gone until late Sunday night. Oh the hardest thing I will do over the next 3.5 days is hold a fishing pole.

Enjoy your trip.

Hiking & backpacking makes me appreciate what I have and to not take it for granted... run out of water & food once or twice & you'll know what I mean. I thoroughly enjoy the sights the Sierra's has to offer and have no problems hiking to see them. Most of the population here in CA hasnt even been to Yosemite and it's in their own back yard...

anyways... Flent, I busted out a bottle of Merlot and dumped it into a boda bag [sm=alcoholic.gif]nothing like a good wine with gormet (sp?) tuna lol

later guys... trucks packed & fueled... I'm outa here.

Sounds awesome, wish my weekend was fishing or hiking. Unloading 2 hayracksof hay is not awesome but if anyone wants to come and help out they are more then welcome. Ill even let you pull 2 racks with your own CTD to test how it performs which could very well lead to more modifications.

Well, the trip was awesome... met some great people up there... one of which was a 64 year old guy named Mike from San Diego... hiking in Teva's. He mentioned he'd been up there (top of half dome)10~11 times already and never gets tired of it. Truely an inspiration! I hope to be in his shape when I hit his age...
