Its amazing how a bullet can completey change directions like that and still maintain so much energy.

 

Been there, done that, just not with a .50 BMG. I have been hit with a ricochet from a .45 acp, .22lr, 12ga, 7.62x39, .308 Win and a .40 S&W. Not fun at all.

 

I know the one and only guy to ever to be shot with a 30mmround from a GAU-8 avenger at nearly point blank and lived to tell about it.

The gun had jammed in flight and after it was removed to the shop, no one knew it still had a live round in the barrel. This poor guy was using a sand blaster in the next room when it went off. The round came through the door, through his thigh and almost amputated his leg right there. It then went through 2 pressure washers, 2 reinforced cinder block walls then came to rest in a cabinet.
