I am pretty sure they have different angle tips for the guns, I think I have even seen one with a swivel head. I was not aware of the fitting you are talking about, I thought there were only three lube points: tie rod ends and the front drive shaft. If it doesnt rain here today I will check it out.
Speakle, I read Drew's thread as saying that there were three areas to lube, with the wheel ball joints as being one of the three. You's see the fitting I mentioned, it's at the very bottom of the steering shaft where it's connected with the steering box. There's not room to get a tip in there, check it out . Huh? doesn't rain here today..................you've got to be KIDDIN ! !

I was in one today buying a grease gun needle for my front shaft and some oil and while walking around I thought about playing a little joke. Find the dumbest looking sales guy and tell him that I need a set of spark plugs for my truck. A lot of people are not familiar with our "ignition" systems so this could be funny although the sales guy probably wouldnt think so. Anyone try this before?
