Default Clutch

Crying in my beer tonight, took the Cummins to get the oil changed and the service guy could not get it in reverse, so we pushed it out, after that I could only get it in 3rd gear, had to call the tow truck, back to the dealer it goes...I had noticed it was not shifting correctly.

Sometimes when I put mine in reverse it doesnt go at first, then clicks a few times before it does go in. It doesnt happen very often maybe 3 times in 7000 miles. Idk why they do that

Just a update: the new clutch, shifter, flywheel was installed today, sure glad the warranty covered it. I would hate to pay that bill. When I got the truck it never did shift correctly, you had to find the gears and the clutch was hard to engage. It shifts smooth now. Luv it!

rick. . .just a heads up. . .your truck does not have 4.10's if you have a stick. . .youve got 3.73's

sounds like the DMF fell apart.

I think your might be wrong on the 3.73, at 70 mph I am at 2200 rpm, I thought all 3500 had a least a 4.10?

the only way to get 4.10's is with the auto. . .the final drive for the auto is .69, the G56 has a final drive ratio of .79. that is way high for 4.10's.

and my truck is geared the same as your in the long run, NV5600 w/4.10's is the same as g56 w/3.73's. I'm turning 2250rpm at 70.

if you realy want to know get the build sheet, if you see an aditional charge for 4.10's then you have them, however 4.10's are not an option with the G56.
